Visible from space, the canyons of the American Southwest are truly among the wonders of the natural world. It took millions of years to carve out these breathtaking spectacles. Join us for a nine-day camping tour on our adventure backpacker bus to see the all the highlights, including visits to hot springs, ancient ruins, and more along the way!
The Wild West lives on and our Canyons of the West wilderness adventure gives you the chance to explore it!
In Zion National Park, trek along the Angel's Landing Trail for breathtaking views of Zion Canyon's sheer sandstone cliffs. Then, take an optional inner tube ride down the Virgin River. At Bryce Canyon, take the Rim Trail or the Fairyland Trail to view the bizarre wind-sculpted hoodoos of Bryce Amphitheater. In the evening, hop into a clawfoot tub to soak and relax under the stars at our favorite hot springs.
Traveling on to Arches National Park, hike the Devil's Garden trail past eight of the park's best known features, including Landscape Arch. For the ultimate Western experience, take a horseback ride or a jeep tour through the rugged desert-and-mesa landscape of Monument Valley.
Escape the desert heat with a cool plunge into Lake Powell or take the opportunity to enjoy a guided trip through the otherworldly, wavy walls of Antelope Canyon.
Our stay at the Grand Canyon can be spent hiking a vertical mile to the bottom of the canyon to camp near the Colorado River. Some may walk along the South Rim to Hermit's Rest for a taste of wilderness solitude. The awe-inspiring depth and breadth of the canyon can take your breath away.
Check out a classic slice of small-town America on legendary Route 66. Finish your adventure in style with a night out on the Las Vegas Strip.
On the final day of the trip, take a ferry ride to Channel Islands National Park to see the endemic plants and animals thriving on the archipelago. This is your chance to see one of America's best kept national park secrets. Later on, you'll enjoy a classic California beach town experience in Santa Barbara before boarding the bus with all of your new friends to head back to San Francisco.
